Welcome from our Headteacher
Choosing the right place to study A Level and Level 3 courses is not an easy decision. I have been at the college for a while now and I am extremely proud of our learning community. I am a firm believer of if it is not good enough for my children, then it is not good enough for yours and my eldest completed her studies with us in 2021 and my youngest is completing her studies here this year. ‘Students First’ is our motto and we prioritise our students and understand that all students are individual and deserve to be treated as such. We are proud of our welcoming learning community, where students can access a wellbeing support as well as a curriculum with a wide range of subjects tailored to individual students that prepares them for their future learning, careers or apprenticeship pathways.
Students also have access to a range of enrichment opportunities including leadership skills, developing their transferrable skills as subject ambassadors, classroom support, work placement week for all Year 12 and visits from Universities, Apprenticeship providers and employers. We have high expectations as we prepare students for their future success and ensure they have the skills and confidence to flourish and make meaningful contributions to our society. It is an honour to work work at Wigston College and we are all working to provide a college for the surrounding communities that delivers high quality teaching and shapes our students into respectful, ambitious, responsible, independent and resilient young adults with that continue to flourish when they leave us. I look forward to welcoming you to our college.
